Sisters of Our Lady of The Missions

Missiology Course 2010

In March, 19 Sisters came together in Davao, Philippines for a two month course, preparing them to go on international mission.

On Pentecost Sunday 2009, an invitation was sent to the whole Congregation, inviting Sisters to volunteer for international missioning. These are some of the Sisters who have responded to this invitation. Some of them will go to be part of already existing missions, others will go to build up new missions in collaboration with local people, parishes and other organisations. They will be sent to China, Laos, Latin America and many other countries.

Their time in Davao is to help prepare them for this challenging task. Their course will include  the theology and spirituality of mission and creation at the heart of mission. They will participate in conferences on Mission at the Margins and will have practical experience in missions in parts of the Philippines with guided sessions afterwards to help them reflect on their experience. An important part of their course will be reflection on inter-cultural living and inter-faith dialogue. Their course ends on 5 May 2010 after an eight day guided Retreat.

We pray that this time will help the Sisters to move into their new missions with greater awareness and confidence, knowing that God is with them.
