Star of Hope Kindergarten, Nairobi
On the edge of the Nairobi Kibera slum the sisters opened in February this year a new initiative. The Star of Hope kindergarten began with almost 100 children who have HIV/AIDS. It would be difficult to find a happier or more enthusiastic bunch of children. There are three classes all keen to learn and this term they will have their new uniforms all made by the Women’s Project operating in Machakos. The children will be very smart in their bright red jumpers teamed with bottle green trousers or pinafore with green gingham blouses. Every day they have two meals prepared for them so that their diet is nourishing and contributes to their ongoing health. Support for this project is welcomed particularly for the daily feeding programme.
