Flood Waters St Euphrasie’s Girls’ High                                                                                         School

Hashnabad, Dt Dhaka 1321

BANGLADESH

6 September, 2000

Hashnabad is about 2 hours up river by powerboat from Dhaka. The high school caters for 1000 girls from the township and rural district.

In the disastrous floods of 1998 extensive damage was done to water and sewage facilities, to furniture and fittings and to the buildings and grounds, forcing the school and hostel to close for three months.

Hostel Thanks to your generous assistance, I can now report that on my visit in July 2000 I found that all the repairs have been completed and the school and hostel are rejoicing in the support that they have received from friends around the world.
