A Glance at South IndiaOur province was born in the year 1994. We began to function as a Vice Province from January 1, 1995.
The young and tender child began to grow.
At present we are 41 sisters in the province - Two on International Mission.

We live in 7 Communities: Mariam Nilaya (Provincialate and Novitiate), Mariam Niketan, Maria Bhavan, Preshitha Matha, Mariam Nivas, and Nirmalaya.
We work among the lower middle class, poor and marginalized, especially for women and children.

Our apostolates include: Parish Ministry, Medical Care, Empowerment of Women, Youth and Alcoholics, Pastoral Care, Family Visiting, Education: Formal and Non-formal.
8 Sisters employed full time in schools icluding administration and teaching
2 High Schools and 1 Higher Primary under the province management
3 Sisters teaching in Government aided school
2 Sisters in a private school
2 communities are involved in Parish ministry and Pastoral care (no remuneration).
Sr. Maureen with the Almel Community in 2004. These Sisters work amongst the
very poor of the State of Karnataka, where a lot of their work is amongst the
child labourers, and women. Sr. Divya [second from the right] died in
2005. RIP
