“ Abide in my love”

Perpetual Profession:  Sr. Aitisha Khongjee RNDM and Sr. Judith Dkhar RNDM – 10 December 2022

The final profession in the INE- Province began with intense preparation of the two sisters who would commit themselves to God and to the Church. The journey started in the beginning of 2022 with input sessions, mission exposure programs, spiritual accompaniment and 30 days retreats. On the eve of the actual day of profession the sisters gathered in the Chapel at St. Joseph’s Convent for a special prayer service and rituals for  Sr. Aitisha Khongjee and Sr. Judith Dkhar.

The Congregation is proud to celebrate the gift of these two women who professed their perpetual profession to the RNDM Religious missionary vocation in St. Joseph’s Church, Mawkhar in India North East Province.

As early as 5 am on Saturday morning of 10 December 2022, the parents and relatives of Sr. Aitisha Khongjee and Sr. Judith Dkhar embarked on a journey from their respective villages to Shillong to attend the Profession ceremony. For them it was a joy to be cherished for life. There was a sense of gratitude to God and to the Sisters with whom their daughters would live forever. They have known their daughters’ desire to be an RNDM much before any RNDM would have known them, and they have diligently accompanied them in faith. Both the families are happy to see that their fruits of love are being offered in the hands of God so that they can serve Him in His vineyard. We the RNDM Sisters are grateful to their parents!

Rev. Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh, DD the archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese graced the celebration of The Holy Eucharist and Profession ceremony, along with him there were 17 priests who con celebrated the Eucharis. There were many faithful, relatives and friends of the Sisters who participated in the celebration.

It was also a twin celebration in the Province to mark the 160th Year of Foundation of the Congregation. To facilitate the occasion the Sisters and the Aspirants displayed a musical journey of the pioneers from Chittagong- Bangladesh to Shillong in 1915. It was a history retold to express our gratitude to the four pioneers- Sr. M.Jesus Adolesent, Sr. M.Dionysius, Sr. M.Ernestine, Sr. M.Bertille de Jesus who have placed their footprints in the mission of North East India and beyond.
