Sr Philippa at 96 years old, engaging in wonderful Mission and Charism promotion

Greetings dear Sisters,

Yesterday  was the celebration of St Columba – and the primary school of  the same name in Frankton invited Mary Philippa and me to join them.   Mary Philippa had hand-crafted a lovely big- sized emblem for the school for their centennial celebration. Today was an appropriate day for her to gift that to the school on our behalf Mr Gareth Duncan, the Principal [pictured] was delighted to introduce Mary Philippa and declare her age to all assembled. It was fitting then that she should offer a few words of wisdom to those young students gathered, listening intently.

We enjoyed morning tea in the staffroom and were warmly welcomed by the Staff.
We thank the Staff and Students of St Columba’s Frankton for their faithfulness in celebrating the Mission Charism and holding the memory of all the Sisters who have been missioned to service at St Columba’s over the last 100 years.
We remembered that it was the first anniversary of Sheila O’Toole, a past pupil and teacher at St Columba’s. May she rest in peace.
