“The heart of God has a special place for the poor, to the point that God became poor.”
Entering religious life, I have the opportunity to visit, touch, and understand more about the poverty of life and human destiny. The poor have a special place in God’s heart, and they hold a special place in my heart as well.
Every Sunday, I often visit the poor, the sick, and the lonely in my neighbourhood. Through their sharing and reality, I see how rich I am: family, friends, health, youth, opportunities…. This experience teaches me to be grateful and cherish what I have. I grow in faith, a sense of belonging, and become one with them in prayer and solidarity.
I am also fortunate to participate in the Divine Mission by working as a kitchen assistant at the Children’s Hospital and collaborating with the RNDM’s associates to collect scrap metal every month, thereby raising funds for the charity work. Each meeting brings me unique experiences, and I realise there is a God of love and life, holy and transcendent, sacred yet very close.
